Confusing
[edit]It is confusing to search Female Heads of State and not find Margaret Thatcher, Indira Gandhi, etc. on the list. For clarity the better-organized Heads of State page should include Heads of Government, as this is a subset of Heads of State. If no disagreement in 1 week I will add Female Heads of Government to Female Heads of State list and add a column of other indicator for Head of State. --Skates61 (talk) 14:04, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Mary Robinson was added to this category but I've removed her because she was a ceremonial head of state rather than an active head of government. If non-executive heads of state are to be included this article should be renamed to something like Category:Female national leaders. Iota 19:33, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- There's already Category:Women rulers, although it's a bit unclear to me exactly where the line lies and whether there should be three categories (heads of government, national leaders, rulers/monarchs) or two or...? Thayvian 11:09, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Acting heads of government?
[edit]Should this category include people who were head of government only for short transitional periods, serving as acting President/Prime Minister/whatever? Specifically, I'm thinking of Nyam-Osoryn Tuyaa, who was acting Prime Minister of Mongolia for about a week. On the one hand, such people haven't actually been appointed to actual leadership (just interim caretakership). On the other hand, they're still holding the reins of power, and carrying out the job's functions. Thoughts? -- Vardion 05:50, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
This category is missing Indira Ghandi.

- Someone (accidentally?) deleted much of the end of the article Indira Gandhi, and so the categories were also deleted. The mistake has been reverted. Shenme 21:59, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Kim Campbell

Monarchs?
[edit]Should this category include monarchs? The first paragraph does not exclude them, but AFAICS the only monarchs in this category are Azarmidokht and Borandukht who are also listed in Category:Queens regnant.--87.162.60.187 (talk) 17:52, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Indicate nation?
[edit]Could we add some immediately visible indication of the nation and time period each woman ruled, so that one doesn't have to click on each link to get an idea of the context? (I'm not sure how to code this in a way that would be nice to look at - suggestions from someone more senior?) Artemick1 22 April 2009
